Millennium Park sits adjacent to one of the most densely populated communities in our city - @DowntownWestYYC. At a minimum, residents in the area should have been consulted on proposed changes. This is not a good look.
We've seen lots of pearl clutching about how an elevated #greenlineyyc will impact the vibrancy of downtown Calgary & yet here we have @cityofcalgary & #yyccc planning on paving over 1 of the few inner city parks. Council can't say they care about public realm while paving parks.

This is a stinging assessment of city councillors, like Terry Wong, who say they understand the need for more housing & consistently vote against it.
There is nuance to this decision and discussion, absolutely. But broadly speaking the Venn diagram of people who complain the loudest about homelessness and then lobby/advocate/vote against things that will help reduce homelessness is a circle.
