There is so much work being done in our schools across the country. We are so lucky to have more teachers than ever before, more SNAs, more students taking the Leaving Certificate and staying in school for longer.

Over the upcoming school year, we will be providing up to 90 Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists into 45 special schools. This is so important in ensuring that students can access the services they need in their school environments.

Ensuring that children with additional needs have access to a class place is a top priority for me. I have written to all patron bodies this week asking them to review their admission policies for schools with special education classes.
