This doesn’t feel like a superfight yet.
It feels like the kind of fight that will be huge for boxing fans, but won’t make noise outside the sport.
A reminder that both men have been poorly marketed, and they aren’t the only ones.

I was trying to explain this to someone the other day. Boxing barely hits the mainstream these days, if ever. You could survey a load of people & show them 20 title holding boxers and I'd bet you'd be lucky if they could name 1 or 2.
@highfieldboxing
That’s unfortunately why it’s taken so long to make as both want money that just isn’t there despite the fact it’s an amazing fight and a genuine 50/50 of 2 top P4P fighters. Will be a real shame if it does flop on PPV and doesn’t reach a bigger audience outside the hardcore
@highfieldboxing
Licking my lips for this one and can’t call it. Big Bud fan but Spence is quality. Think we need a nice break down of this fight soon on one of your pods. Really hope we get some of those quality build up shows following them in their respective camps etc.
@highfieldboxing
For real. Such a shame, im hoping the first fight is so good that it opens up to the casual fans for the rematch and becomes a super fight inside and outside the sport..
@highfieldboxing
Lol but the tickets were gone in minutes yes that makes sense. It will crack a million easier than Ryan and Gervonta. With or without your 2 cents.
@highfieldboxing
Do you have any American correspondents close to the ground and listening to fans and industry people? The buzz for the fight there is huge. It may not have the same youthful energy as Tank-Ryan, but it's coming. Maybe a lack of UK broadcaster hasn't helped matters here.
@highfieldboxing
idk about this opinion, they already did first take just based on the announcement, and other casual sports tv shows have done segments as well on it already such as “Undisputed” on fs1, it already has mainstream buzz, and the fight was 2 months away when these shows covered it
@highfieldboxing
People are burnt out on this fight.
Crawford destroyed the initial momentum of interest that had been building.
He ruined the marketing .
