there's also this weird overlap between tennis / chess enjoyers. i decided to drop chess entirely since it consumes space i use for work in my brain. tennis is a bit easier to manage in that sense

Is tennis the perfect sport? - It's exciting for 1 hour and then gets tedious. A perfect amount of time for daily exercise - The court blends in to the landscape and doesn't transform the landscape like a golf course - no teammates that expect something of you or to tell at

I'd like to think it's forgetfulness but a lot of people just don't understand fault proofs don't prevent incorrect state transitions they prevent someone from lying about what state transitioned occurred still unnecessary when building a rollup these are separate things

One thing I wanted to say, but didn't get to: Bitcoin is struggling culturally/technically with parasites, while Ethereum is just giving its lunch away to RUs Ethereum needs Rollups. Rollups don't need Ethereum. Except @signetsh. We're too tightly coupled to go anywhere else πŸ™ƒ

im sick of "alignment" being the goal of #ethereum projects, @peter_szilagyi's open letter to the EF explicitly critiques this culture of kingmaking where what @VitalikButerin and his posse say is good for the ecosystem is good and aligned, how about you think about @Polygon

It is completely impossible to look for competitive related advice on Reddit because you just get the quirk chungus β€œwhy compete? just have fun” type of advice like have you ever felt the hunger to win. cmon

The reality is that there are not that many great people in crypto that are talented, experienced and dedicated. We've just come out of an era where you had to be a total maverick to work in this cursed industry, both because literal nation states threatened you with hard

if you're a crypto dev wondering what instrumentation is, and where to start, @prestwich wrote a quick primer Here are the key points: 1. Tracing >>> Logging 2. Spans >>> Events 3. Mature systems need observability 4. You can implement it. Easily. Today.

the inevitability of crypto eating all of finance is what makes it critical to uphold the core values/ideas that started the movement. self-custody and permisionlessness are hills to die on, they must be non-negotiable. otherwise we will end up worse off than the status quo.

This is true AND it's important to ensure that invisible access to crypto can happen permissionlessly, globally, w/o intermediaries, just with your self-custodial wallet.
