10years ago the NRAD report looked into asthma deaths. 2/3 were preventable by better NHS care and better self-management. Recommendations were made but not actioned. Nothing has changed. Deaths are still happening. Many are avoidable. https://t.co/yK5qyhvGCE

I hadn’t planned to do #RidePalestine again this year as I was so overwhelmed by the support I received last year and don’t feel you can keep asking for more money from the same people for doing the same thing, but… https://t.co/sJGlgb6uNR

The UK only has 3.2 doctors per 1,000 people. The 2nd lowest in Europe and fewer than: 🇦🇹 Austria: 5.5 🇨🇿 Czech Republic: 4.1 🇩🇪 Germany: 4.5 🇮🇹 Italy: 4.1 🇱🇹 Lithuania: 4.5 🇪🇸 Spain: 4.6 We simply cannot afford to lose any more of them. They just want fair pair.

We were very saddened to hear of the death of Dr Iain Small; Iain was a major contributor to PCRS over 20 years. We will miss Iain but must thank him for his inspirational support for PCRS and his humour and wisdom. This obituary pays tribute to Iain https://t.co/H3jjxKvmPv

It has been almost 9 years since the publication of the National Review of Asthma Deaths (𝐍𝐑𝐀𝐃) 2014, the first national investigation of asthma deaths in the UK. Unfortunately we do not seem to have made much progress in caring for our asthma patients. #asthma #NRAD

Joining PCRS and the Respiratory Leadership Programme was one of the best things I ever did. I didn’t know what I didn’t know working alone in primary care, but through PCRS I’ve met some incredible people who continue to inspire me to do better.

Mortified that a patient with severe asthma was called and told her inhaler carbon footprint was the equivalent of driving to Scotland and back - and therefore she should switch to DPIs, without any attempt of trying to improve asthma control! 😩

In a survey of ~1200 people with lung disease, 70% were bothered by tobacco company involvement in inhaler manufacture, and 48% would want a switch. Big tobacco further profiting from the diseases they caused in the first place? You couldn’t make that up. https://t.co/8rpJZXAFlc
