🌟 My students blew me away today with their scientific knowledge & vocabulary usage during a lesson at @FernbankMuseum, leaving no doubt that using student interest and teaching science through Pokémon works!✨ #ScienceEducation #ElementaryScience #PokemonLearning #STEM
5th graders used a dichotomous key to classify Pokémon! Huge thanks to @TheBestEducator for creating such realistic cards bringing engagement levels off the charts! Students even applied critical thinking skills to debate & classify more abstract characters. @hapevillehawks

Scientific debate of the day: Is the Pokémon, Gyarados, an amphibian🐸 or fish🐟? Students used evidence and their dichotomous keys to persuade their classmates. Many decided 🐠 based on scales & a mostly aquatic life. What do you think??? @TheBestEducator @DrCSLPadgett

Last week, we explored the fascinating world of invertebrates, observing centipedes, worms, and hermit crabs. Today, I ventured into my back field to collect some amphibious creatures. What could be next in our journey of classifying vertebrates? 🐸 #WheretheMagicHappens
While observing, I got to capture the joy and magic of students learning with different animal types. #WhereTheMagicHappens @jasonjstamper @Whitaker_HES

Through hands-on investigations, Ss were able to use cubes and boxes to derive equations for finding the volume of rectangular prisms. They transfered that knowledge to @PlayCraftLearn to build prisms w/ specified volumes. It was a great first week in 5th grade! @hapevillehawks
