@Rebecca_SIE401 I’m only after seeing your tweet now Rebecca. I tweeted similar myself. Not only a brilliant achievement for the girls but a great example of how leadership comes in all shapes and sizes.

Couldn't have said it better myself 😀Meaningful leadership can only occur when teachers are able to apply these three aspects effectively in relation to what they know about the children in their care

@Rebecca_SIE401 This is so accurate Rebecca! Leadership is about what we do everyday to include and guide others, not just what we do on a once-off basis! Thanks so much for sharing! #SI401

An excellent achievement for the girls. In creating this informative, useful booklet as student teachers they have proven that you don't need to be in a position of power to lead change. The booklet was made available for download today on the HADD Ireland website #SI401

(1/2) Using Grundnoff et al's 6 Facets of Inclusion framework (2017) to analyse some of our lesson plans from SP3 in small groups during our #SI401 module highlighted several possible areas for improvement in relation to my inclusive practice.

Excellent share @Brennan123Niamh All of these aspects of a good lesson can be related back to our learning from #SI401 and different aspects of our accumulated knowledge from previous years of our Special and Inclusive Education specialism to date.

What if, instead of saying “we are not equipped to support this student,” we say “how do we BECOME equipped to support this student?” #SpedChat #EdChat #Inclusion

Great weekend at the @LiteracyIRL conference. It was enlightening to hear from so many informative speakers and gave me a great insight into what it will be like to attend conferences and courses as part of my future CPD. Definitely one I'll be attending again #LAI18 #SI401

We moved our @LiteracyIRL conference from September to November this year. So encouraging to see the huge turnout on Friday night (despite the appalling weather) and on Saturday.

(1/3) In the Irish Times (Thu, Jun 15, 2017), Minister for Children Katherine Zappone described the vision of her late wife, Dr Gilligan, as being: “that education transformed poverty”. It's fitting that a lecture hall within this education training campus is named after...

@Rebecca_SIE401 I really enjoyed your tweet and I agree that it is invaluable to work with the resources and knowledge that we have as educators to make a positive impact on children's learning and school communities. We must remember that small changes can make a big difference. #si401

This image from @BrookesPubCo excellently portrays the importance of equity, rather than equality, in terms of inclusive education. The difference between equity and equality was a key point discussed in our #si401 lecture today.

(2/2) It made me think about implementing inclusion in a broader sense, hence, making me aware of the other factors that can affect said implementation, as demonstrated in the image below. A good read for anyone wanting to research the topic further 📚

(2/2) I found it a great means of reflection and will definitely be using it on my upcoming SP and future teaching. I have grown to realise that there's no such thing as a perfect teacher, there will always be room for reflection and improvement!

(1/2) After engaging with the 6 facets of inclusion in our #SI401 module, I decided to read further into the concept using the article "Teaching for equity: insights from international evidence with implications for a teacher education curriculum" (Grundnoff et al, 2017).
