The only thing I'd add from a Proclean POV. The irreducible first person "what it is to be" that DBH uses to argue for the existence of dryads and spirits of rocks, trees, etc; is the sign of the first principle. That irreducibility leads Proclus to go beyond DBH's position. ...
Quoting for wider reach, esp to invite those more knowledgeable than I in classical theism (@timmodryoid, @Suc_sexx, @olobzjr…). It is, foremost, pertinent to note that DBH titled his great book with Thales’ locus classicus: πάντα πλήρη θεῶν εἰσίν—ALL things are full of gods.
