I’m not literate enough to state the best or even really my favorite but god damn I love Todd Browning’s The Unknown. When I first saw it when I was young it gave me a whole new appreciate for silent and PreCode films.
Not only the best silent film, the objective greatest film ever made. Not my favorite (top 10 tho), but it defines "filmmaking" as an artform
