We recently added API docs for the JavaFX components by DLSC, e.g. for PDF viewing, form-based UIs, preferences, picker controls and more. These controls are frequent and crucial building blocks of advanced JavaFX applications. Links in the comments. #javafx #java #jdk #javadoc

In APIdia's visibility settings, you can choose to see also private members and internal packages. Actually, nothing prevents you from selecting *only* private members. Why would you do that? Just because you can!.Surprise, there is even Javadoc written for many private members.

On APIdia there are now quick-selectors for Jakarta EE 11 API docs to reduce the view to core or web profile. You can also select e.g. platform without core and web to see precisely those modules that are *only* available in the full platform profile. #java #javadoc #jakartaee

Do you use `jshell` ? (installs with Java). I find it nice for:. - scratching out quick ideas.- testing small syntax issues.- or anything else you might do with a REPL (quick calculations, etc.). Tab completion is decent and it presents some JavaDoc content.

What's the advantage of APIdia over conventional Javadoc?.It solves a bunch of painpoints, constantly improving. Notably, you have a proper side navigation to actually browse packages and classes. Javadoc used to have this until Java 10. On APIdia, this feature is future-proof.

Am I the only one who wishes the default overview page for Javadoc provided a package tree view, like IntelliJ browsing a library (left), instead of a flattened package view (right)?

Now that Javadoc supports Markdown, it’d be amazing if IntelliJ could render PlantUML diagrams inside Javadoc, just like in Markdown files! 🚀🚀🚀. There's already a feature request for this --- upvote it to make it happen!. 🔗

What’s new in #Java23?. With “Markdown Documentation Comments”, you can write JavaDoc comments using Markdown, which is easier to write, read, and convert to HTML. If you prefer, you can still write the documentation comments using HTML and JavaDoc tags,

You can mix traditional Javadoc with Markdown comments!. I'll use Markdown for the new comments. (or, in this particular case, missing comment. )

By the way, not so long ago I implemented dumb and simple Javadoc sanity checks which are available in IntelliJ IDEA. No AI or even NLP, just something regexp-based. It allowed finding and fixing some blatant mistakes in our documentation. Probably it should be extended. If

It's finally here! JRuby 10 has been released with support for Ruby 3.4 (including 3.2 and 3.3 updates as well). Minimum Java version has been bumped up to Java 21, allowing us to support more modern JVM features. Begin your migration today!.
