Amazing story. Nathaniel Isaacs was a Jewish adventurer shipwrecked in Natal in 1825, and who lived with the Zulus and fought in Shaka Zulu's army. He was declared an "Induna" (chieftain or advisor) by Shaka and received land grants before fleeing in 1831 amid succession
Weird fact but Shaka Zulu - the man who created the Zulu Empire - had a jewish advisor named Nathaniel Isaacs. Isaacs then went on to own vast numbers of black slaves after the British Empire had abolished slavery.
