yet again plugging grayjay for android and desktop, cant recommend it enough its the only way i watch youtube on my android devices and soon once i get my old laptop set up connected to my tv to have a “smart” tv that doesnt spy on me, ill use it there too
If you want to truly boycott YouTube here. Let’s do this instead. - Use an ad blocker. If you’re using the app, use an external browser temporarily with an ad blocker installed. - Turn off all your subscriptions. This one should be pretty obvious. - Go on incognito mode. (1/?)

Seems like GrayJay's unfortunately conceding to being entirely useless for Youtube. They now force you to allow the virtualized player fallback because they apparently don't want to fix UMP/IOS ... but that has literally never worked (at least for me).
