@EstaRyan12 Eliot Wolf’s only smart move was hiring Vrabel. His 2024 draft 2 years later has 1 surviving member and that’s Drake Maye. His 2025 draft has only 3 good players. And he had the most capspace of any team in the league. He didn’t do anything that Gutey couldn’t have done btw.

Another thing I keep harping is teams trading super high quality players want at the least picks and promising young players and filler back they aren’t trading those kind of guys into capspace where they just get a trade exception and picks so with the lakers having no contracts

How much we pay him does not matter with the caphold set. We will still have the same capspace to spend regardless
Lakers are playing such a dangerous game letting all these players run out their contracts. There is a non zero chance that Austin signs elsewhere next season. Lakers may have to choose between overpaying him or losing him. And as a one way undersized player, overpay is a risk.
