Hey @BaltCoPS Elementary @BCPSMATH teachers! This is why the AREA model for multiplying is important! I’m working with Algebra 2 students after years in 5th grade and wow! Rewriting polynomials in standard form is super easy if students use the AREA MODEL!

My @BCPS_VLP @BCPSMATH students are on a math 7/math 8 semester schedule so to wrap up math 7 (instead of a test) I let them pick their favorite unit and create a project. I was amazed at the creativity and participation! We had projects representing every unit! Here are a few:
