Splendid ironstone church and lychgate, their ironstone glowing in the sunshine - the open timberwork bell-tower has a steeply pitched gabled wood shingle roof with finials. Great Bourton lychgate, Church of All Saints.

#Woodensday at St Helen's Berrick Salome. The complexity, antiquity & beauty of the timberwork is quite remarkable. Nave has a 4-bay roof, dated 1615, with upper and lower windbraces, 2 rows of ogee-moulded butt purlins, and elaborate double-collar trusses with queen struts...

#Woodensday at St Helen's, Berrick Salome. Previously, I've been too timid to ascend the rail-free stairs to the Western gallery, with heavy turned balusters, dated 1676...but not this time. It promised a new view of the fabulous thicket of historic timberwork over the nave!

And on my way out! Great Bourton lychgate, Church of All Saints. Built in 1882 by William White, in ironstone ashlar. Dramatic open timberwork bell-tower with steeply pitched gabled wood shingle roof. The path to the next church is lined on the left with primroses.

#Seminyak temples with carved, painted and gilded timberwork, and most with a mini-forest of neatly thatched shrine roofs. One had a pet rock. All closed for locals’ use only…

Nonsuch House, completed in 1579, was a striking four-story building that once stood on Old London Bridge. Unlike many structures of its time, it immediately drew attention for both its scale and its intricate design. Its ornate façades, gabled roofs, and decorated timberwork

I absolutely LOVE the sign board from No. 9. Decades of names, multiple reincarnations. Yet, the timberwork remains the same. A super job. Well done. #allgoodinthehood #stlukes #pizza #newbusiness #newventure #newlife
