Tree Pipits are back at Stainburn Forest! Yay... (not strictly HDNS area)... and Redstarts back at John O'Gaunts Res, also Sedge Warbler (heard only) and a couple of Sandpipers that were faster than I could identify! c10 Snipe in little reedbed. @HarrogateNats

Stainburn Forest today, wasnt expecting a mixed flock of c25 Fieldfare + Mistlethrush nr Little Almscliffe. I usually dont see Fieldfare there until much later in the year. Flock of 6 Crossbill, c35 goldfinch, stonechat, redpoll, Green+Grtr WPs, c20 Mixed titflock. Light poor.

Some other goodies from Stainburn Forest today. Crossbills, a very tan Willow Warbler, Lesser Redpoll, Chiffchaff, Chaffinch, Mistlethrush, Curlew, Coal Tit, etc.

After negotiating some very narrow country lanes I found the #Church of St. Mary, Stainburn. It is one of the churches maintained by @TheCCT The Church dates from the 12th century, with major changes in the 17th, including the bellcote 🔔.

Drove out with @wayneski2213 & the youngest to Stainburn Forest & walked to Armscliff Crag today for an excellent family walk.The sun appeared & we had a gorgeously warm peaceful day a picnic on the rocks with lovely views & a great catch up with the youngest. #YORKSHIRE
