Okay, this is incredible! Yesterday was historic. OpenAI launched the o3 model, and wow! What they showcased was impressive. We are stepping into new territory. Moreover, it reached 25% on FrontierMap (along with other breakthroughs), which is monumental.

This is exactly what's motivating some of my personal projects rn #frontiermap.
I have learnt so much from seeing the debate between @GaryMarcus and Yoshua Bengio. First, I realized that there is so much history in #AI that is been glossed recently. Most of new research these days is propelled by the results rather than the importance of the questions.

I got the impression that most people do not really have much of a vision of where their specific field is going within a decade - but do know that their field is important in said decade. Maybe we should all spend a bit thinking about where we are going to.

This is something I'm addressing a bit in my #FrontierMap project cc @Orthogonal_Lab @CognitionFuture . So much of the 'early work' is getting context, bearing, trajectories, and sense of the argument being made, and finding some 'landmarks' in that space can smooth the journey.
