A lovely (disturbing?) empirical example of the importance of how you build your questionnaire…

So what results do you get if you ask Sir Humphrey's polling questions? @IpsosUK decided to try it. We showed 1,000 Brits his pro national service poll and 1,000 his anti national service poll. Results: Sample A: 45% in favour of national service, 38% say no. Sample B: 48%

I'm biased, but this is a phenomenal opportunity to do great epidemiology/demography/sociology/etc of health in a community with substantial health concerns but a strong desire to improve themselves. If you've got questions, do ask me!

The least controversial Atlantic piece ever. Truly a window into the soul of parenting. I ❤️ this show so much. And the family tolerate me binging it and occasionally bawling my eyes out. Thanks @OfficialBlueyTV

“Bluey” is the kind of lively show a toddler anywhere on Earth can understand, but it’s also a sharp representation of contemporary parenting, @davidlsims writes:

A quick plug for our recent paper outlining the principles we followed in developing of a cross-country survey to measure adolescent health in lower-income settings. Hopefully it is clear & useful to others: https://t.co/qJ4Omy0isj

This sucks for my family. But the issue seems systemic, and most likely to affect those not able to pay for all seats on one booking. So those with limited resources Can someone explain why there is no flexibility built into the system, and perhaps propose an improved approach?

Since there is no infant on my ticket I cannot use the 3rd seat even if I pay. The (very kind) call centre team member tells me that since I cannot access this row online, neither can she. So I must hope I can grab the seat 24 hrs pre-flight, or that someone is willing to swap

In more detail. I had to book a flight on a separate ticket from the rest of my family. Since there is an infant on their ticket they can access bassinet seat rows, and have booked two of three including the bassinet seat
