HOS members do you have any orchids that you could pollinate and send the seed the society’s seedbank?

Herminium monorchis, musk orchid. Sown in 2019. Will be trying to hand pollinate, depending on how successful I am I will be donating some of the seed to the @HardyOrchidSoc Seedbank.

Hardy Orchid Society field trip on Martin Down this morning. 7 species and 2 hybrids seen (see ALT). Luckily rain held off for the most part - but too cool for butterflies to also be on the wing. Great company too - and a pleasure to guide enthusiastic folks around the reserve.

Home to the largest no. of Green-winged Orchids in Shropshire, Minsterley Meadows is special. It’s now for sale & at risk - just 1 year without management will mean numbers plummet! 🌱💔 Middle Marches Land Trust are fundraising to secure its future: https://t.co/ijx14DzRdJ

Asking a favour @HardyOrchidSoc I'm going up to Teesdale with a small group of HOS members this June and would like to reach out to any local HOS members who could help us locate orchid sites in Teesdale. Please can you retweet? 🙏

GOOD NEWS! Tongue #orchids - a 🧵 The appeal by Kler Group, who planned to develop the Tiptree Serapias lingua site for housing, has been REJECTED, meaning the meadow has been saved! This is thanks primarily to Jonathan Greenwood of Tiptree Parish Council & Essex Wildlife Trust
