I literally made this version today so stay tuned for tomorrows episode where I decide it's terrible and I hate it and decide to do something even worse like use notion or something.

Having it all stored in git is also super handy. The past version I used "worked" and was much cooler but was totally over engineered. It stored annotations as extended attributes, had a fancy TUI, could mark/star files, etc but. I'm not sure. It felt clunky.

I've gone through a couple iterations of this over the past year or so with varying degrees of success. This doesn't have a ton of bells and whistles but works well by running: `note filename "description"`. No more random `dump.pcap`, `dump2.pcap`, `poc_working_final_2.sh`

A simple .bashrc function lets me quickly annotate a file using git notes. I initially tried to use commits for this but it got a bit clunky and confusing when multiple files were involved.

When looking for obscure issues I always end up with tons files like: poc_final_final2.sh. I don't always have time to organize things without the potential of losing my train of thought so I've been trying to find an easy solution. This is my most recent attempt:

My homelab has been down for a while. I can't stress how nice this is to have it back with all my custom tooling. Deploy a VM with terraform to proxmox with single command: . eph -name quick-sandbox -ram 8 -disk 30 -distro ubuntu -confirm

Single .html file applications are S tier. How did we get to breaking applications into 120938092318 distinct files and then putting them in a docker container so they can be deployed in Kubernetes in an a managed cluster inside an AWS environment??????.

Disagree with much of this except:. "When you are paying by the "pull of the handle," the vendor's incentive is not to solve your problem with a single pull, but to give the appearance of progress towards solving your problem.".

At least some of your time with genAI will be spent just kind of… futzing with it.

Does anyone know of any ongoing or published research looking at the similarities between using AI and the dopamine rush you get from gambling or pulling a slot machine lever?

Odd request but does anyone know where I can find lots of "real" bash history files? 25-50 would be helpful!.
