My car was stolen before, it was 4 days before it was found. I lost income from work, had to pay a cab to get groceries for my kids. When the cops found it, they impounded it instead of calling me to let me know , I had to pay a couple hundred to get it out.

I can relate. My son’s car was stolen. It was found stripped. They called me and said I had to be there in 20 minutes or they would tow it. Since I was 30 minutes away, I literally told the officer, “I’m SPEEDING to get there!” and he said, “that’s fine, Ma”am!” Insane.
