Drawing the Historical Past Do you draw history? If so, which period are you mainly focusing on? Iād love to see your works and be inspired by it! š As for myself, I mainly do medieval age (8th - 15th cent.), though I have done art in antiquity and early modern period.

Tamales? (Es)tĆ” mal(o)? Not exactly the forbidden tamales I had in mind, but a colleague of mine gave this to me after her recent trip to the states. Will wait until I am brave enough or after I try an actual proper tamales. Otherwise, you might see a new drawingā¦š
No Tamal, No Cacahuatl Of all the Mexican restaurants I can visit here, of all the tacos, burritos and gorditas, none of them sells tamales. I am really curious to try some tamales and mexican chocolates, but itāll be a challenge to find them outside the American continent š

Spooky month? The last time I went through a spooky month, you saw the creation of "Lady Oda the Pious". Granted, there were other things happening, but I uhā¦iāll just try to stay away from dark things, least my mind wanders through the abyss š

I still prefer drawing chinese armour than plate armour š The āmountain pattern (å±±ęé§)ā scale may look intimidating at first, but once you know the trick, they are pretty straightforward. That being said, I havenāt touched medieval China for a year nowā¦š

Oh, Tengo Suerte! Going on a deep dive into Mesoamerica history is perhaps one of the best highlight of this month! Despite the myriad of bickering, I received plenty of feedback, help and support, so Iām really happy and feeling creative! š

My notes says this is based on the armour of King Ferdinand II in kuntshistoriches museum in Vienna and Altar piece at Santa Maria la Major, Trujillo. However, itās been a while since I dwelled in medieval Iberian related stuff, so I will need to revise again š¤

If it was, would they have looked like the late medieval āIberianā plate armour? Or the ācompositeā (?) armour like in Musee de lāarmee collection as well as in āLa Tama de OrĆ”nā, both of which shows a larger, square shaped tasset? I was looking back at my notes and was curious!

Spaniards Cultural Shock (Cavalry) This may be a silly question, but is it correct to assume that the typical heavy full-plate European shock cavalry wasnāt used (or utilized en masse) by the conquistadors up until the conquest of Tenochtitlan in 1520s, right?
