Finally got around to watching the second episode and I'm kinda right but also horribly, horribly wrong. It overcorrected the first episode's main problem of too many characters by cutting characters and stuff out and now Deuce's inclusion in the expulsion makes no sense.
Watched Twisted Wonderland's first episode. Enjoyable, but doesn't give the best impression if you're not already a fan, and even as one I see it as a 6.5/10 if I had to rate it. Knowing what happens I expect some improvement by next episode, but I'll stay cautiously optimistic.

Got recommended a 4hr video that was just someone’s recording of 2004 Cartoon Network and I watched the whole thing. It’s not just nostalgia, that era of kids networks was legitimately better than now. Even the commercials were better.

King Oritel, Queen Marion, and Daphne should have stayed dead. Losing family she never knew she had, but finding new family/friends who love her was what made Bloom's story more impactful.

Not just that but the subtitles are abysmal to look at. What is it with modern games being scared of using nice readable text?
They’re still doing it like this and it’s still really strange. It’s especially weird with all the other diegetic sounds audible. Makes it feel like a mistake.

But to wrap things up, obviously if the direction that was done made sense I'd be fine with it. I'm not against the idea in theory, but it really struggles to mesh with Vil's character and the retreading doesn't help.

I mean, he brings up he's 183cm tall, then not long later Rook mentions Vil wears 13cm heels... Or like Vil's makeup gets undone after being saved from overblotting and you see a haggard wreck under it all. Or heck, if it turned out he's wearing a wig.

It's disappointing something more substantial wasn't done with it, like if it turned out the Vil we see is his brand persona, or at the least he's a wee bit of a liar about his authentic beauty.

And on Vil's beauty aspect again, on one hand yes, it's there, but 'cause of how things are handled it's more there to reference the Magic Mirror and resolve Epel's sub plot.
