The big 2 sided box of Saltwater flies I tied (115 of them) got sent home with my brother-in-law over Thanksgiving. Today he just delivered them to his friend. He looks happy so I am happy!

The BYU inspired 3 weight fly rod for @svutility is wrapped. Except, i am switching out the stripping guide. I should have gone with a smaller size on this 3 weight so a 10 is gonna replace this 12. Second, I am gonna go with chrome in order to match the bling of the reel seat.

Working on matching 5 weights. Just need to wrap the stripping/casting guides on 3rd section, label, and epoxy.

Little Quail hunting this morning in memory of our pup, Sage. She didn't know a Quail from a rock. She preferred chasing bugs to finding birds. But she always loved the outings

Missed my pup today. We had 15 at our house for Thanksgiving dinner. She would have loved all of the "under the table" food handouts. And I always saved her a bite of pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Take a moment and give Thanks for those in your life-including pets.

I fell asleep outside watching the football game after our Thanksgiving meal with my wife's family. (We had 15 people over.) My wife took a picture of me sleeping from the kitchen window. Her sister's husband has an AI app and turned the photo into this video! Ha!

Tonight our precious pup died. Sage was a faithful companion, my wife's shadow, my walking buddy, and the neighborhood mascot. She would run outside, stand by the gate and wag her tail at walkers. She is buried in the back yard next to the Wood pile where she chased squirrels.

These are the 2nd sections are wrapped (next to tip section) on the matching 5 weights- 3 guides on each. Left the tape where i mark guide placement on the second rod so i don't mix them up! Calling it a night!

After several test color wraps and trim designs, @svutility decided on this thread color/pattern for the matching 5 weight rods. I think it looks sharp! #flyfishing

3 fly rod reel seats and grips are epoxied! 3 weight is coming along. And... company comes in tomorrow so I will be cleaning up and moving operations to the garage! 😂

"Measure twice cut once." When building a fly rod check recommended guide spacing twice and order once. I did not. I didn't even check once. Bcuz every rod I have built on this model says guide number=rod length in feet + 1. Except this 8 ft 3 wt calls for 10 guides. Oops.

I hate left over soggy Tacos so I placed one in a new shell. Wife-"you're really smart" Me-"I know. I married you" Her-"then it's the 2nd smartest thing you've done!" WHAT?? Maybe all those times when my dad said, "way to go genius" he wasn't calling me genius! 😁
