If you aren’t married, don’t live together and don’t have any children together then you are maintaining 2 separate households and that’s it really. That’s all the information that is useful to census.

Census is meant to record the current state of the population and if a large cohort of people are no longer marrying and instead just maintaining long term relationships then I think that might be notable to the government tbh it shows a significant shift in societal norms

Yes. It will record that there are a certain number of adults of both sexes living as singletons and not in units of 2 or more co habiting co dependents.
