A visit to @farmer_richardT this week saw us ring Skylark 24 Woodcock 1 Redwing 2 Jack snipe 1 This included a very large Skylark which was well over 40g and had a wing on 124mm!

Rarely see lapwing here in the winter - until this cold snap. They are to be seen foraging across all the wheat fields atm.

Cover crop after wheat doing OK. See the different root structures. Sunflower, cereal rye, turnip, phacelia,chicory, plantain, vetch and clover.

I enjoyed getting hands on, helping @Jannerbirder ring these Barn Owls yesterday. 😊
Our farmers continuing to lead the way with farming for wildlife. Fantastic to see 3 of 4 Barn Owl chicks ringed @farmer_richardT last night. Over the years he has provided fantastic habitat for all wildlife on his farm, which is paying off.

Had the pleasure of walking around @broadwayorchard's farm for a bird survey this morning. It's always good to see switched-on farmers who can produce food *and* wildlife, and those NFU field access point signs are a genius idea 🙂
