I mean, the venue is great and they've got plenty of space. Not to mention - spacecraft 😁. Do a "moonshot" theme and a kids day in partnership with the museum. It would be a hit!
I like that WordCamp Portland is #wcus this year. The convention center is a great venue. The past venue of Lewis & Clark college was OK too. But I wonder if we could ever host at the Evergreen museum in McMinnville. Great space for learning. And they have event venues too. .

I've worked with folks in the past who did the moonlighting thing. Worked multiple p/t or f/t gigs simultaneously. But usually just the 2. The story of a guy working 4+ simultaneously? At pretty notable (read: hyper competitive) firms? I find it hard to believe.

I didn't. I got my MBA with a focus on marketing and branding strategy. Then the economy collapsed and my boss told me I'd be out of a job unless I could build a website. So I bought a how-to book and taught myself .Net. Then pivoted into FOSS. The rest is history.

For those keeping score, the new product website itself is actually running on a very alpha version of the actual product. Gotta dogfood :-).
Happy to finally launch a very rough v0 of A long ways to go until we're live and taking on customers, but it's progress nonetheless!

I feel the same way about full site editing in general. It's great for low-code site building. But once the site is built I don't see the point in still having the utility there. If it's part of the platform, then it's there whether you need/use it or not.

I'm not trying to rebuild my layout every time. It feels more like this is an initial setup and infrequent tuning feature. Not something I'd use day-to-day like I would when building a post.

I like the block editor for building content. I'm intrigued by the idea of block base #WordPress themes for the full site. But . I don't really get it.

I still remember sitting at home on Dec 31, 1999 wondering whether or not the world would end because I hadn't actually done any of my schoolwork over the winter break . And today my kids don't know what it's like to wait for their favorite TV show to air.

My goal for the week: actually launch the v0 rebuild of Which means stripping out a lot of the unnecessary WIP features I _want_ to build so I can get back on track with a launch. Oof. Being real with timelines is _hard_.
