Day 2 of #EPRNConference11 starts with presentations from 4 young entrepreneurs, showcasing their experiences, testimonies, and achievements in agribusiness.

Yesterday, researchers, professionals, and private sector stakeholders from various institutions gathered at #EPRNConference11 and engaged with insightful research findings and diverse perspectives. Today, we move into Day-2, focusing on Youth in Agribusiness and Gender Policies.

The 2nd panel discussion, jointly hosted by #EPRNRwanda and @ICTDTax , focused on Domestic Revenue Mobilization through effective tax policy administration, highlighting digitalization of tax systems and public education as key priorities. #EPRNConference11

The presentation by Dr Mpakaniye indicated the need for Rwanda to expand tax coverage by formalizing the informal sector, which currently represents over 60% of employment but contributes less than 6% to tax revenue (NISR, 2022).

During his presentation on Tax Reforms in Rwanda, Mr Abel Ntegano said Taxes mainly affect businesses and luxury goods, keeping essential goods largely unaffected. #EPRNConference11

During the #EPRNConference11 , Dr. Jean Paul MPAKANIYE delivered a presentation on Evaluating the Impact of Effective Fiscal and Tax Policy on Investment and Long-Term Economic Development in Rwanda (2014–2024)

The 1st panel discussion was around Enhancing resilience of economies in this era of socio-economic shocks whereby key discussed shocks included climate change, pandemics and geo-political shocks. 🇷🇼 needs to strengthen its financial and technical resilience to manage the shocks.
