Okay but one of the myths behind this is heartwarming to me. Personally.
Mom friend (our goddess) and her two girlfriends are hungry af but there's nothing to eat. So she cuts off her own head to feed her pals and herself w her blood.

It's supposed to be a copulating couple. It doesn't tie into the story that I personally enjoy but she's supposed to symbolise sexuality, self-control, self-sacrifice etc so yeah
