It is a true sign of the times that when I came around from my anaesthetic earlier this week I was asked the name of the hospital I was in and what the date was rather than the name of of our Queen/Prime Minister.

I have said for many years that I believe at the heart of this is the concept of career politicians. If all your ambitions circle around your own career path how the hell can you really care for those that elect you? Truss is a prime example.
