Does Mercedes have L3 driving?
Yes, but:
- only on some highways
- only up to 60 km/h
- not in rain
- not at night
- not in tunnels
- only with a preceding car
- only at temperatures of >4.5 °C
Does that mean they are ahead of Tesla?
No:
@elektrotimmy
pardon… that is how it is allowed to use on e.g. autobahn. How are you allowed to use FSD ? Does this mean mercedes is ahead of Tesla. Of course it does
@ALLYBABTU
With little brainpower, no eyes in the head, and only focusing on approvals, one might think that Mercedes is ahead of Tesla. In reality, as I mentioned, the Drive Pilot is a useless traffic jam assistant and the EQS is a car that in official crash tests cannot avoid a collision.
„Autopilot can't even properly adjust the speed! My VW can do that!!“
Guys! Listen! THIS is coming to Europe and will make every other ADAS system on the market look like a piece of crap.
This month is crucial for the future of FSD in Europe and several other countries. A vote will determine whether the draft can be presented to the World Forum in November and whether it will become a valid regulation next year.
The vote is scheduled for September 25-29.
Fingers…

If you wanna have L3 approval from EU authorities the vehicle must be equipped with backup systems for radar, camera, steering, brakes. Maybe other systems as well.
Tesla doesn’t have this, so it will not be certified in EU.
