We deplore racist attacks at home for the same reason we deplore genocide abroad: we believe in the equal value of human life. My response to calls for the cancellation of peaceful protests for Palestine.

Incisive article by @premnsikka “Taming corporations is the key issue of our times” Corporate capture of government is too little considered & discussed.
leftfootforward.org
To appease corporations, people may raze mountains, divert rivers, clear forests, cover countryside in tarmac and shower subsidies upon them, but they have no loyalty to any place, people or product.

Pls @RachelReevesMP, not “trickle-down” 😱 Read @RBReich “It is hard to overstate how damaging trickle-down economics has been for the American economy. It has eviscerated our tax code and empowered a class of oligarchs that dominate our political system.” https://t.co/IOiJ29Rdwg

This Spending Review is a great illustration of why there needs to be clearer discussion around housing tenure. The Chancellor is announcing £39bn worth of grants, but depending on the details, this could mean genuine public housing or just 'tenure-washing' of the status quo
£39 billion for 10 year Affordable Homes Programme being widely welcomed in the housing sector. But lots more detail needed, including how much of the £39bn will be for social housing and not Shared Ownership and other “affordable rent” homes. Some possible numbers…👇

This is the final plot 8 (H1) of the former Heygate estate. @lb_southwark agreed to sell it to @Lendlease for £6m with payment due upon commencement of construction. @lendlease just sold it to another developer for £42m. @lb_southwark still hasn't received a penny of its £6m.
