And any limit here would likely be permanent. Euston is prime land in central London. If you decide you don’t need the land for platforms and release it to developers, you won’t be getting it back. Ever.

I’ve represented Noah Pozner’s parents for six years. Noah shares a birthday with my son. His parents have to deal with this garbage every single day. It tears me up that no matter what I do, I will never fully vindicate his legacy from these freaks.

An interesting combination of data from the CSO and the election tally teams enabled this spatial analysis of Sinn Féin votes in the 2020 General Election.
New paper alert! 🚨 Jonathan Pratschke and I have published a spatial analysis of tally data which highlights mechanisms contributing to Sinn Féin surge in the 2020 Irish general election #GE2020

Over the last decade, local authority funding for museums has decreased nearly 40 percent. The National Museum of Wales is up for closure after its proposed funding was slashed by *3 million* That’s what defund means. Closing museums.

As much as I enjoyed @gavreilly spreadsheets, they were missing bits on transfer efficiency and what the current effective quota it is likely more than 1 elected won't make the quota), so I made my own. https://t.co/omrjp83xuz

At most two more counts to go in #MidlandsNW constituency. After count 19, the gap between the bottom two is 3796. If the difference between them is less than 5429 (Ming's excess) once Lisa Chambers 62818 votes are distributed in count 20, then there will need to be a count 21.

One for Irish election nerds: has there ever been a multi seat (ie not Presidential or by) election in Ireland where no one met the quota (after all the counts were completed)? So, N seats, where N>1, where the final N+1 candidates were **all** under the quota?

The plan (that I have been told) is that the Dublin count will go on to approx 9pm, before returning tomorrow. We'll see how many more candidates are eliminated this evening. 14 left competing for 4 seats I wouldn't be that surprised if it takes to Wednesday to finish in Dublin.

If no one makes the quota in count 1, then you are looking at transfers from eliminated candidates which can happen quite quickly. Things then slow down when you get to the candidates eliminated with more than 10k votes.

This explains why someone getting elected on the first count can really slow down the entire count process in Ireland Having to go through all of their votes to proportionally allocate their no 2s is slow, especially in European elections.
🗳️ Have you ever been bamboozled by Ireland’s electoral system, or how election counts work under the PR-STV system? Fear not: I can explain… 🔴 using 🟠 a 🟡 well-known 🟢 chocolate 🔵 sweet 🟣 snack 🟤. (Other tasty confections are available. #notspon.)
