Welcome both and particularly fellow Moray Councillor!
We're absolutely delighted to welcome two councillors to the @scottishgreens today. John Stuart (formerly SNP) and Ross Mckenzie (formerly Labour) are champions for their communities. They've joined the Greens because we put people & planet before profit and stick to our values.

Starmer’s Orwellian compulsory ID cards won’t make a blind bit of difference on “illegal immigration” but will impinge on all our freedom. Scotland should be able to forge its own way with reactionary Westminster interference spying on our day-to-day life. #noID

This is my full article and press release (used by BBC and Guardian) My point: we may know the immediate cause was a campfire run wild, but behind this-climate change is the real cause, and that's all our responsibility. @scottishgreens

What’s wrong with UK (Anglo-centric) media? Utterly ignoring devastating fires in the Highlands. Shameful.

Our local forest is burning days after I found unattended fires in the dunes. This record-breaking dry spell is part of climate breakdown. Wake up—do homes need to burn before we act? Whatever the cause. Don’t make campfires. Full stop. @ScotNational @BBCScotlandNews @NScot

To my American friends, today is an epic day and only one result matters, that democracy is upheld. To me this means only one name on the ballot matters. Vote well my friends.

A country is built by investing in ALL its people and what they rely on: clean air, land and water, becuase this leads to good health, jobs and education. If we don't build the foundations, no patch up job will work. The budget = patch up = opportunity missed. @scottishgreens

My article in the press today, featuring the cost of us doing nothing about climate change and biodiversity loss and why we must transition to a green future! @MorayGreens

WAKE UP! Climate breakdown means we are at the tipping point as the dangers of a collapse of the main Atlantic Ocean circulation grow, within the next few decades for countries like Scotland, the risks will raise the question whether we can continue to live here. @scottishgreens

There's more than enough wealth in Scotland to end child poverty, but far too much of it is in the hands of a tiny number of extremely rich people and big companies. We don't need another decade of Westminster austerity, we need to tax the rich!

Whilst welcome it’s a long way from reforming this antiquated institution. In a democracy we should not be run by appointees and peers. @scottishgreens
BREAKING: MPs have voted to back the abolition of hereditary peerages in the House of Lords Labour’s watered-down plans to reform the House of Lords have passed their first Commons hurdle

Carbon sink collapse is being ignored & could thrust us into chaos. The great forests & microscopic algae of the seas of our planet are being wiped out due to claimate change, yet all we hear is backtracking on commitments to net zero & biodiversity. Shameful. @scottishgreens

The Labour government is lurching from a bonkers "Trumpian" £22billion dirty carbon capture plan to burning biomass (ie trees) imported from countries including North Korea and Afghanistan. Here's an idea don't cut but plant trees = carbon capture = hit net zero. @scottishgreens

Couldn't agree more.
We need to deliver public transport for the public good. It is common sense to over the most vulnerable people in society basic needs, like people seeking asylum. We are calling on Scottish Government deliver free bus travel for aslyum seekers. https://t.co/exIQoABrFr

Labour’s £22bn carbon capture pledge that extends dirty oil & gas pollution, follows surge in lobbying by fossil fuel industry. Is anyone surprised? @scottishgreens @MorayGreens

Scope of oil and gas influence underscores concerns technology will prolong demand for planet-heating natural gas

Labour to commit almost £22bn to fund carbon capture and storage projects. This only serves to legitimises and prop up dirty oil & gas expansion. Why not spend the money on insulating homes to help reduce energy consumption and lower fuel bills. @scottishgreens @MorayGreens
