Sexual orientation and ‘gender identity’ are entirely different things. PLEASE do not equate in any way sexual orientation with identity. I’m gay. I don’t ‘identify’ as gay. I’m gay. Please don’t do this.

I never meant to imply that they were choosing it.
I meant to imply that, say I’m 8 years old and I say “I’m gay” am I correct in my self identification? Or is it too soon for me to tell?
That’s what I mean.
