I'm better than you all! I can out-learn you. I can out-read you. I can out-think you. And I can out-philosophize you. And I'm gonna outlast you.

The discussion about the origins of Hip-Hop has reached a level of tribalism that honestly makes me 🤮. We need to stop talking about Hip-Hop from the context of racial and ethnic pride and start discussing our culture through the lens of economics (the struggle doesn’t GAF if

There are 2 ways to DJ. Let the music play, or play the music. In the hands of a standard DJ, "Walk This Way" (Aerosmith) is a Rock record being played. But when Jam Master Jay touched it, the song was transmuted into Hip-Hop by the way he handled it (scratching, juggling, etc.).

Over the past year, many people have been living in fear while trying to support their families. Bad Bunny’s performance reminds us that America is diverse, with a variety of cultures and ethnicities, and that this diversity is what makes the country special.

A 37-year-old citizen trying to protect someone from pepper spray was murdered in broad daylight in Minneapolis today. ICE's actions in this country are gross. They’re like a modern Gestapo, and the federal government’s orders to ICE make me wonder what kind of country I live in.

No single ethnicity created Hip-Hop or Breaking. They’re not forms of expression that are centralized to one group of people. It’s stupid to think that.

“The freedom of Puerto Rico is the first condition for all of our freedoms—Black people, Asians, Indians, Chicanos, and all working people, whatever color they might be.” Angela Davis, a Black Panther, emphasized this point inside MSG in Oct. 1974. Joke’s on you, @Nibiru1000!
They done turned Huey P. Newton’s Black Panther Party into the Democrat Panther for immigrant defense, lol. What a joke 🤦🏾♂️🤣🤣🤣

I read in a New York Times article today that Trump claims the civil rights movement resulted in white people being ‘very badly treated,’ and for the first time, I find myself agreeing with him.

I’m grateful for many things this Thanksgiving, including my family’s continued support and, of course, Rasul Mowatt for helping me get my first book published. But I’d be remiss if I didn’t extend that appreciation to my incredible year touring the country with my DJ partner in

This book wasn't originally part of my career plans. I began writing it in March 2023, inspired by how Hip-Hop became a polarizing topic during last year's "Hip-Hop 50" celebration. I hope y’all find the info in it insightful. Thank you @RockTheBells. https://t.co/30O9B5Fdvp

Have you all noticed how the racist rhetoric in contemporary Hip-Hop has started to diminish over the last two years? It seemed to particularly fade this summer, around the time Joe Conzo served Tariq Nasheed, the fraudulent leader of the FBA disinformation movement, a cease and

In this excerpt from our lecture and Q&A at @MIT earlier this week, Rasul Mowatt and I discuss how the ingenuity that characterizes Hip-Hop is significantly influenced by the unique environment of New York City in the 1970s. #brolicarmydjschool #thecityofhiphop #routledge #mit
