Winter brings long nights and dark days, but nature’s palette is as bright as ever. This is just a small sample of winter’s colourful delights. Why not head outside and see how many colours you can spot in nature on just a single walk? 🎨

You might have seen snow on Dartmoor in the last few days, but have you seen snow buntings along the coast? ❄️ After breeding in the Arctic, 10-15,000 snow buntings come to the UK to spend the winter here. In Devon, they've been spotted at Dawlish recently! 📷: Matt Boydell

No, these images haven’t been altered — the fungus really is that blue! This is a stunning example of a rare yet instantly recognisable species: the cobalt blue fungus (Terana coerulea). Have you ever seen anything like this? 📷 Eleanor, DWT volunteer

That's dam impressive! 🦫 Bex (Beaver Project Officer) recently discovered this incredible dam and wetland which had been constructed by a beaver family. On this occasion, the landowner wasn't aware of its existence but is happy with the beavers being there! 📷: DWT
