a helpful visualization
wear a ciput/bandana that's not too tight and fold the ears back.
I'm no elf but i do have big ears,
i wear hijab everyday. this does the trick and it doesn't hurt.
If the elf ears are longer like Link or Frieren just wear looser hijab and looser bandana underneath.
