My 12yr old breaking his full day fast-no water/food. School project required to follow another religion’s practise for a day. Decided to follow Ramazan fasting. Amazed by his endurance & really liked the project.

Btw, we do have a 24 hour nirjala (no food, no water) fast on "ekadashi".
Ramzan fast is eating b4 sunrise, eating after sunset. It's just 12 hour fast. And, often, they eat very heavily in the morning. A Muslim colleague of mine used to say she would spend 4-5 hrs in Kitchen.

Fasting of any kind cannot be deemed as "following other religions' practices" imo.
