The best course / degree / learning method is whatever is right for you at that point in time and it's highly subjective.

Just remember the main reason any bugs are found in open source is because the source code can be inspected.
Solar Winds showed that closed source companies are just as capable at getting stuff horrendously wrong.
Any corporations bitching about open source better be willing to pay people to do work on that code

Also four years ago today I started my running journey and did a 5km run that I struggled through but had been nominated for.
