I whipped up something special for
@EW
’s first
#Survivor
cover since 2004 with a deep dive into the casting process featuring the incredible stories and audition videos of contestants that made it onto season 45. Enjoy!
The fact that the final immunity challenge winner gets called out by the jury for not giving up immunity tells you everything you need to know about how dumb the final 4 fire-making is.
#Survivor
Michele Fitzgerald is now the only person in
#Survivor
history to play multiple times and never be voted out or leave early. (Amanda and Russell were voted out on third time.)
Y'all, Kenzie not only won
#Survivor46
5-3-0, but one of her votes came from… Maria.
If Maria sticks with her BFF Charlie, it's a 4-4 tie and Ben most likely gives tiebreaker vote to Charlie. Maria's defection cost Uncle Charlie the million dollars.
Dee waiting to inform Austin RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE JURY that she did tell Julie to play her idol and he had no idea what was actually going on is her best
#Survivor
move of the season.
Big news
#Survivor
&
#BigBrother
fans. CBS announces a target for all future unscripted casts to be at least 50% Black, Indigenous and People of Color. Plus, 1/4 of reality budget going to projects created by BIPOC producers
Got a little
#BigBrother
news for ya…
Julie Chen Moonves teases that a possible winter 'Legends' season or celebrity edition could be in the works. Check out the article for more info.

There are so many great reasons to never go play
#Survivor
. But being able to deliver a message like this on national television may outweigh them all.
That fascinating scene between Shan and Deshawn is not “woke” Survivor. It’s CLASSIC Survivor! People wrestling with their conscience while also trying to win a million dollars is the entire basis of the game. Scenes like that have always been the lifeblood of the show.
#Survivor
I now present to you the most self-aware contestant in
#Survivor
history.
Much more hilarity from the entire
#Survivor45
cast in the full video at the link.
There’s literally nothing in the world I love more than someone acting shocked they have been chosen to play Big Brother… EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A CAMERA CREW IN THEIR HOUSE!

This is a major flaw in the
#Survivor
game mechanics, where you are rewarded for being voted out early by having more chances to get Fire Tokens for advantages, and actually PUNISHED for lasting longer on the tribe and therefore get no tokens. Man, Yul got seriously hosed.
Here it is: the longest article in the history of
@EW
. I put together a 20,000 word oral history on the greatest
#BigBrother
moment ever, which aired 7 years ago today. I hope you will read, enjoy, and share with fellow reality TV obsessives.
Maryanne now becomes the second straight Canadian woman of color to win
#Survivor
. Canadians have now played in three seasons of the show and won two of them. 🇨🇦
It's truly amazing how many people are discovering
#Survivor
for the first time (even though it has been on for 20 years) just because Netflix put up 2 out of 40 seasons.
#Survivor
43 finalist Owen Knight says 'F--- the After-Show' for not giving him time to process his defeat before toasting with champagne and hashing it all out.
No idol hunts. No rando advantages or hourglasses. Tons of fascinating 1-on-1 scenes as players struggle to reconcile their desire to win with competing personal factors. Easily the best
#Survivor
episode of the season. And Tribal Council hasn’t even started yet!
Taylor Hale gets very emotional when talking about the importance of keeping the
#BigBrother
live feeds: 'Sunlight is the best disinfectant. And to me, the live feeds are the sun.'

Is it a coincidence that this
#Survivor
episode without a single segment based around an advantage or idol so far is already a million times better than last week?
'We’re going to see a very powerful Vader,' promises Hayden Christensen as
@EW
presents the exclusive first look at the return of Darth Vader in 'Obi-Wan Kenobi.'
Simon messing up a dramatic line and then redoing it for the cameras while assuming producers would not include the flub is my new favorite
#SurvivorAU
thing.
I confirmed that the secret phrase does not change for every episode, so Xander has to say that same stupid line AT EVERY SINGLE CHALLENGE until the other advantages have been found, and I have never been so happy.
