If there is a flash flood watch or warning in your area, seek shelter & avoid traveling once it starts to rain. It only takes 6 inches of fast-moving water to knock you over & 2 feet to carry away vehicles. Listen to your local officials & have multiple ways of receiving alerts.

#DYK? The leading factor contributing to home cooking fires is unattended equipment per @USfire. If you're cooking for Thanksgiving this week, keep anything that can catch fire away from your stovetop and use timers as a reminder to check on food you're cooking.

Temperatures are getting colder. ❄️ As you heat your home, prevent home fires and carbon monoxide poisoning. Install and test smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors with battery backups, and make sure you keep anything that can burn 3 feet away from heat sources.

It's going to be a soggy day as we head into the weekend with more rain. If traveling over the pass, make sure you slow down as needed for conditions and have those headlights turned on.
