Mother and calf Cuvier's beaked whales stranded in Pico on Thu 16 Feb. Sadly, mother was found dead. Her young female was rescued and led back to open waters. Chances to survive without mom are honestly slim, but we still keep fingers crossed for this little, sweet young whale ❤️

Bye bye 2020 and welcome 2021! Another couple of months and baleen whales will be with us in Pico - a great snack bar for them on the way to their high-latitude foraging grounds. We are getting ready for that! Are you?? 😋#azores #picoisland #whalewatching

Pico is a Covid-FREE destination and in 2020 we had a 90% success rate for shark diving, with up to 20 Blue sharks in a single dive and quite a few Makos turning up.

Have a look at our new Cetacean Species Database Tool. Species sighted in the Azores are clickable and give access to the corresponding sighting chart by month. That should help you decide when to join us, depending on what species are high in your list! https://t.co/4GFHk09uaK
