If I live to be 100 I'll never understand how 17m of my fellow citizens fell for the lie that we didn't need to be in a union with our fellow Europeans and why they thought FoM in our own continent was a bad thing, it baffles me every day.

Unelected commissioners .
Simple as that.
If you like undemocratic authoritarians running you life and your country I'd say you were a little confused or simply a thoughtless stooge.
I'll never understand those, throughout history who have favoured
Handing away their freedom.
@tomfawcett88
Really, you're presumably incandescent with rage about our unelected Head of State and the House of Lords, this is exactly the sort of lies we were fed.
@chris2400
I've just had a read of some of the replies, there are a few, not many, whose responses illustrate my point about the lies but they still believe them.
@alisonnonum
We did do a lot, remember Thatcher and the SM. Unfortunately the press always reported it as poor old blighty fighting the big bad EU. We were very influential, we were on the top table we're now at the back of the overflow car park.
@csav55
Let’s get us back sooner. I’m saddened that so many people I know are making use of family ties to get Irish or other EU passports/citizenship.
@csav55
I think large part of the reason was all other EU countries have restrictions on access to public services esp healthcare, so open borders aren't an issue,whereas UK doesn't have those structures, so many voters felt only way to protect NHS was to vote for restricted borders.
@csav55
@IrishEUPassport
Agree. But what puzzles me even more are the people who claim to have been remain voters yet are vehement that Brexit can’t be changed or in some cases even challenged.
