I feel very sorry for all those people refused a church wedding on basis if being divorced, even when they were the innocent party. It must feel like a slap in the face.

Happened to me, my first husband was a drug addict, couldn't marry my wonderful 2nd husband in the church and was treated like a pariah, that's why I'm a lapsed Catholic.
@csav55
He has not been divorced from a Catholic marriages. So under Canon Law the Catholic Church can marry him. If he divorces Carrie, the Catholic Church won't marry him again.
@csav55
Perhaps you can tell us ingnorami how come a twice divorced man can marry in a Catholic church that doesn't believe in divorce?
Also how come a Queen that is head of the C of E was CROWNED in a Catholic church?
@csav55
Both he & his blushing bride are baptised, Westminster Cathedral is their parish church, & Boris's previous marriages were not sanctioned by the Church, so don't count....
@csav55
How did the Catholic Church allow
@BorisJohnson
to marry for the 3rd time, with all his illegitimate kids as well and no Annulment? Even Henry VIII had to work harder than this by No 3.
Glad to see that the sanctity of marriage is alive and well in the Catholic Church!
@csav55
I’m not even a catholic but related to a former Archbishop of Westminster and assume my relative - Cardinal Hinsley - would be turning in his grave. Allowing them to marry there is obscene.
