Hey Brexiters, the Japan deal you're all so pleased with is not ratified yet. The Japanese Parliament will vote on the deal in January 2021. Have a wee think about the significance of that date.

I thought about it. Is it because you canβt enter into a deal with one party while you are still tied into a deal with another? ... Iβll answer my own question. Yes, that is the reason because thatβs how these things work. Obvious really, when you engage your brain.

Thanks for that. I said yesterday that the Japenese should tell us to do one (or words to that effect), and was told by someone it was hard luck blah blah we already had the deal. To bad he hadn't read the small print.

Are you suggesting that they may have an issue making a deal with a group who don't exactly honour deals?
If they are willing to torch an existing agreement they made so much noise and commotion over why would anyone trust them?

The mini-'deal' will allow Japan to export three times more to the UK than the other way around. And we all know cheese is very symbolic but hardly valuable, specially once we start accepting US labelling on our protected brands?
