It's so hard to explain to a child that you can't be there for something this important when you are as much a part of her life as her parents. They give me Mother's Day presents because they regard me as a second mom. I understand the limitations, but our family dynamic

a parent. During this pandemic I was the one homeschooling her every day while her mom worked. She was so disappointed. Should have postponed if they couldn't accommodate godparents. We make a promise to be there for these milestones when we baptize them.
