Whoa. Nicely done, Burkey and co!
Ryan Dinwiddie has officially been named the 4th Head Coach and 3rd General Manager of the Ottawa REDBLACKS. "I’m a pretty fiery guy. I’m an emotional coach. I’m a players first guy. They know it’s all love but I want to do whatever I can to get the best out of these guys.”

Springer hitting the winner on 1.5 kneecaps followed by Schneider dropping live F-bombs in the on-field interview is the new Canadian Heritage Moment.

The last time the Jays were in the World Series, I was a week away from turning 8. What a finish to that one.

I wrote this after hearing about the death of Molly Penny, @CHEO's legendary clown earlier this week. It's public, so you don't need a Facebook account to read, should you wish. Read it here: https://t.co/iG8YtsylqC

This: “3 downs, 12 players and the waggle are the things that matter most.” There is nothing charming and Canadian about a pass bonk off the uprights. Moving them back is logical and will impact big plays for the better.
@SensfleckTy If a league has a rule where they think ‘boy, I hope this never decides an important game’, that rule should probably change. I get your point and you’re not alone in not liking the changes, but to me 3 downs, 12 players and the waggle are the things that matter most.

Rule changes aside, refreshing to see a CFL commissioner who can deliver a proper press conference, actually answer questions and not seem terrified or confused.

Agreed. No issue with any of it. Good, thoughtful changes that do not dramatically change the Canadian game but could improve it.
Today's CFL rule changes are official. The game is still three downs. The field is still 65 yards wide. Those were the two sacred cows, in my opinion. I think these changes are smart. Full details: https://t.co/hlRhNmhTa7

Regardless of whatever this "major announcement" is, the new CFL Commish has been fairly invisible in his first year and all of a sudden he's popping out with this more than 2/3rds into the season. That's BOLD. Will either be his biggest success or be the beginning of his end.
Commissioner Johnston’s about to shake things up 👀 Excited to see what’s coming. If you’re in the “CFL is perfect, don’t touch it” club… maybe this one’s not for you. @PaperPlatesShow

Also, given the current state of things, should this happen tomorrow, the Trump truth social post will be something to behold. “I’ve never even heard of the CFL but it’s tremendous to hear the Canadians are getting on board and [something something 51st state]”
Have my doubts that tomorrow’s announcement will be that dramatic. The timing for something like that, leading into the playoffs, would be a really strange PR move. But we’re also talking CFl, so never say never.

I’m being told to prepare for an Americanization of the #CFL game beginning in 2026. 🇨🇦 ➡️ 🇺🇸

The ideal mix of skill, kindness and empathy with a knack for reading between the lines and navigating the politics, relentless hours and giant swings of emotion that come with the territory. And definitely not while getting rich doing it. An asset, great friend and stellar dude.

End of an era. Hiring and working with Maki was a career highlight and his success in a very challenging and often frustrating role is something I’m incredibly proud of. I knew he would be good and I fought to make it happen.
News is out! Been tough keeping it bottled up, but yesterday was my last with the @REDBLACKS, @Ottawa67sHockey, and OSEG. These last four years have been a dream come true, and I have too many people to thank in one tweet, so if you'll indulge me, quick mini-thread:

Well. This team. 8 years working there, two seasons as a fan since. Not sure which phase has stressed me out more but I’ll always take a battle like tonight at home. A few too many shots of @SteveBunda91 on the broadcast, though. @REDBLACKS
