Ive spent half my life on these rigs. We call those trash fish. They are fun. Ive had a stingray buddy at one location and id whistle and it would come out from under the rig and id throw food out for him.

We would have half the rig shut down and hanging over the handrail watching those. The Toolpusher would come around screaming at us and see the whale shark and be like hell yeah!

No we call those “shit fish” … get ‘em in a frenzy, drop a line with a chicken bone on it just under the frenzy and pull up a nice red snapper for brunch

Fishing is easy in Saudi. The hands would see one of the little white indian bass boats under the rig and they would hand signal a deal with them and we would send down cases of water and pull up fish from their cooler with a rope.
Id let a few guys go in early to cook sometimes
