That train had at least three drivers!
EXCLUSIVE: First new Glasgow Subway train for 43 years entered service a few minutes ago. They will eventually routinely have no driver or staff on board. @TheScotsman background: https://t.co/mnjQZl301H

So my beer can, from Münich, can get refunded in Quebec, but in Scotland we can’t even arrange a Deposit Return Scheme for our own cans and bottles on our territory. Why not?

“Currently about 2/3rds of all Dutch children walk or bike to school, with 75% of secondary school kids cycling to school. By enabling safe and active travel, Dutch cities prevent an estimated one million car journeys to school each morning.” — @modacitylife in #CurbingTraffic

Cycle lanes reduce congestion. Their capacity for moving people is about six times that of car lanes. More cyclists means fewer cars on the road, saving billions of 💰💰💰in congestion costs (and on healthcare, pollution etc.) HT @WeAreCyclingUK

What if every city had “Bike Buses” for kids going to school & daycare? What if safe, protected bike infrastructure made them easy? From Nijmegen NL, a #BikeBus developed in partnership with an after-school childcare. HT to great folks at @Cycling_Embassy

We have the potential to do so much more hydro in Scotland with projects like Coire Glas, Cruachan 2 and Red John which between then would generate 2.5GW. The biggest barrier to taking them forward is the failure of the UKG to provide a hydro scheme route to the market.
